What has God been saying to you lately... A weekly question asked by Cliff Tadema at our Mt. Vernon Christ the King staff meetings. Reflecting on last weeks message on prayer, I (Monique) returned to one of my favorite readings in a small yellow book of mine written on silent prayer by Bob Kilpatrick. "Here is another of the secrets of the silence; all our activity will be informed and empowered by the time we spend alone with God. Our fruitfulness will be that much greater for us having deep roots in the soil of divine friendship." "Your were made first for silence, then obedience." "First for stillness, then action; First for fellowship, then fruitfulness." Psalm 81:13 says, 'O, that My people would listen to Me, that Israel would walk in My ways.' "Listening precedes walking. If you are to do as God says you must, sit quiet and listen for Him. It is in the silence that we hear and know the will of God for us. It is here that He confirms to our hearts His plan for us." This is what God has been saying to me lately... Monique
